Expertise That Cares

Good treatment starts with being heard. At Sayee Velan Clinic, our doctors take the time to understand what you are going through before suggesting anything. We handle general surgery, ENT, endoscopy, and more all in one place in Madipakkam. Just honest care from doctors who know their work.

General Surgery

Dr. Seshashayee has handled hundreds of surgical cases over the years hernias, piles, gallstones, thyroid lumps, and more. What sets him apart is not just the surgery itself, but the time spent understanding the patient before and after it. He does not rush to the operation table. If a condition can be managed without surgery, he will say so.

Conditions Treated:

  • Hernia inguinal, umbilical, incisional
  • Piles, fissure and fistula
  • Gallbladder stones
  • Thyroid nodules and breast lumps
  • Ulcers and soft tissue swellings
  • Urinary infections and trauma cases

Approach:

Each patient gets a proper clinical examination first. Surgery only when it is genuinely needed. And once it is done, we stay in the picture post-op care and follow-up are part of the deal, not an afterthought.

Laparoscopic Surgery (Keyhole Surgery)

Most people are surprised when they hear they can go home the next day after surgery. That is the difference keyhole surgery makes. Instead of a large cut, Dr. Seshashayee operates through small openings using a camera and slim instruments. Less cutting means the body heals faster, there is less pain to deal with, and infection risk drops significantly.

What Patients Notice:

  • Much less pain in the days after surgery
  • Tiny scars – barely visible after healing
  • Back home quickly, sometimes the very next day
  • Lower chance of wound infection
  • Able to walk and move around sooner

Surgeries We Perform:

  • Appendix removal
  • Gallbladder removal (Cholecystectomy)
  • Hernia repair
  • Hysterectomy (laparoscopic)

After Surgery:

Start with short walks. Eat simple food. Keep the wound area dry. Avoid lifting anything heavy for three to four weeks. Before you leave the clinic, we go through all of this with you so there is no guesswork at home.

Upper GI Endoscopy (Gastroscopy)

That burning feeling after meals, the constant bloating, or a vague discomfort that just will not go away these things often point to something going on inside the stomach or food pipe. An upper GI endoscopy is a quick way to actually see what is happening. The camera goes in through the mouth, travels down the food pipe, and shows the stomach lining and upper intestine clearly. Takes about 10 minutes.

Usually Advised When You Have:

  • Acidity or reflux that medicines are not controlling
  • Frequent indigestion or bloating after meals
  • Vomiting that keeps coming back
  • Difficulty swallowing food or liquids
  • Weight loss without an obvious reason
  • Suspected ulcers, gastritis or early growths

What Happens on the Day:

Come with an empty stomach. The procedure takes under 15 minutes. You stay awake throughout most patients say it was easier than they expected. The doctor discusses findings with you the same day. No admission needed in most cases.

At Our Clinic:

We use a high-definition endoscopy system in a clean procedure room. The team briefs you before the scope goes in  no surprises.

ENT (Ear, Nose & Throat)

Dr. Sai Saranya runs the ENT department and has a particular interest in getting to the root of problems rather than just suppressing symptoms. Whether it is a child with a blocked ear or an adult who has had sinus trouble for years, she approaches each case methodically.

Ear Problems We See:

Reduced hearing, discharge from the ear, pain, recurring infections, wax build-up, fungal infections, earlobe repair, and foreign object removal.

Nose Problems We See:

Sinusitis, blocked nose, loss of smell, dust and pollen allergies, constant sneezing, and foreign body removal.

Throat Problems We See:

Voice changes, tonsil infections, throat pain, swallowing difficulty, neck swelling, persistent cough, and thyroid-related symptoms.

Children’s ENT:

Kids stick things in their ears and nose more often than parents expect. They also get tonsil and adenoid problems that affect sleep and breathing. Dr. Sai Saranya handles paediatric ENT cases with extra care and takes time to explain things to the parents too.

General Medicine

Not every health problem needs a specialist. Sometimes what you need is a doctor who sits with you, asks the right questions, and figures out what is actually going on. That is what our general medicine consultations are about. Fevers, body ache, BP, diabetes, thyroid issues we handle all of it.

Common Conditions We Manage:

  • Fever, cold, viral infections and seasonal illness
  • High blood pressure monitoring and long-term management
  • Diabetes sugar control and lifestyle advice
  • Thyroid disorders
  • Anaemia and nutritional gaps
  • Fatigue, body pain and generalised weakness
  • Routine health check-ups

Who Should Come:

Anyone who is unwell and not sure which doctor to see. Start here. We will either manage the problem directly or point you to the right specialist without wasting your time.
